An open letter to Katherine Heigl
Dear Katie,

You need to shut your mouth. Now.

After seeing this article in the LA Times, I can't wait for you to get your Michael Keaton treatment.

Your fortunate casting in this "horrible" show is the only reason you are relevant. Does anyone remember your last big "hit", "Roswell"? Does anyone remember that you were first introduced to us as that French guy-with-a-big-nose's daughter in "My Father, The Hero".

Do you realize your career is due to talented writers and extremely fortunate timing? Do you really think "Knocked Up" would have bombed without you? And even then you trashed the very talented Judd Apatow.

So now you're an expert. You were able to ride your "Knocked Up" success into a stream of RomCom leading roles. Good for you. Now shut your stupid mouth, be gracious if you are ever blessed with the opportunity to be nominated again and accept the residuals from the shows you were lucky enough to be cast on. Those same shows where you were PART OF AN ENSEMBLE. You are a walking prop the writers and directors use to keep the brainless masses glued to the tv with.

Thank your parents for the genes, thank your acting coach for the lessons, thank your managers and agents for the hustle, buy your publicist a nice present and then bless the writers who were able to write the scripts that brought you all of the fame and fortune.

Much appreciated,

Jamie

P.S.- If the writing was just sooooo awful on Grey's Anatomy this year, wouldn't it have proved you to be an even BETTER actress to pull off such garbage? Huh, kind of funny what with it being and ACTING award and all.

P.P.S- For someone who has been in the business for soooooo long, why haven't we seen some magic written by you?

Incredible how Katherine can be full of it... as you said she is only part of a much larger team, producers, publicists, make up artists, wardrobe stylists, writers, lighting technicians, camera men, etc refusing the price is like saying "you see these people that work with me? their works mean shit to me", she is where she is because of a large number of people, she is the canvas of the mua and the make up, the hair stylist with her hair, her clothes with all the fancy clothes she uses in the program, the crew that sweats their asses carrying cameras, boom arms, microphones, lighting, etc, etc, etc.

And of course the Writers, they are the key element for a tv series to suck or to have success. In the end she seem like a very opinionated person, it wouldn't surprise me is she was against the writers guild strike and this is some sort of revenge.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us
The best for You, Cris, B, C and M!

It really is a smack in the fact to all of the people she has to work with everyday. She's trying to get herself out of her Grey's contract but doesn't seem to know how to do it in the right way. Hopefully the show enforces her contract and her character is demoted to cleaning bed pans.

Thanks for the comment!

And of course the photo running with the first news article listed in a "Katherine Heigl" Google search* sports an image made by Mr. Leica-Snappy hisself. Are you guys gearing up for some good-cop-bad-cop tag-teaming of poor, exploited Katie? ;-)

*It's true, I didn't know who she was. I shoot sports and burning buildings, for Pete's sake, so I can't be blamed for my own ignorance.

That's pretty funny. But, no, this is my battle and she really pissed me off ;)

Very funny. She's not David Caruso so she can be a diva, leave and still have a real career in features. It's too bad that she'll be rewarded for this behavior

I certainly hope not. It's funny when you get to see the other side of this drama. But very frustrating when someone pulls something that would never fly with a "real" job to only be sent a Snookie's Cookies "We're Sorry!" basket.

After working in "the biz" for a while I know there are amazing talent and absolute hacks on every project out there. But I also know how many others are waiting in the wings to get a shot at making it. There is way more in play than a writer typing up a script and the actors acting it out. No one ever blames the studio and network execs...

I also love how she can say that the season she won her Emmy for was full of stellar writing.

katie rocks. ;)

when she was "nobody" she was so nice ... now ... well ... publicists are like so afraid of pissing her off. it's amazing.

her replacement is already in l.a., though.

she just has to blow the right producer. ;)

hi. :-)

...and writers are so important... have you ever seen really good actors in films that are poorly written, and you are wondering how those actors braved it to say the lines. they can't save a performance if the writing is poor.

It's a little of that "there are no small parts, just small actors". Or bratty actors who don't seem to understand that writers also read newspapers (or at least their online versions).
